Clinical studies and trials are at the core of what Children's Research Network does — a rigorous, systematic process used to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of new drugs, devices, and medical procedures. Every study moves through multiple phases, and each phase is built to answer a specific question about the treatment being studied.
Before a volunteer can join a study, our team conducts preliminary testing —which may include lab work or a physical exam—to confirm eligibility. Once a volunteer meets the study's requirements, a clinical research coordinator steps in to guide them through enrollment.
These studies focus on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of internal illnesses in children. Families often start with a pediatrician or family physician when reviewing symptoms tied to conditions like heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, and lung disease.
